I am skeptical that new laws are the answer to the bullying problems. Bullying is obviously a serious subject that parents need to better understand.

When we were kids, the bullying stopped when we left the playground. Today's kids have to deal with bullying 24/7 because they are connected 24/7. The average kid today sends or receives almost 4,000 text messages per month, and they are online 1 in every 4 waking hours. 80% of kids say that they sleep with their mobile phones so that they won't miss any important messages.

Here is a collection of excellent articles on the subject of cyberbullying that might be helpful for your readers… http://www.uknowkids.com/blog/category/cyberbullying/

I highly recommend that parents consider using a parental intelligence tool such as uKnowKids (http://www.uknowkids.com).

Parental intelligence tools are designed to help parents keep their kids safe from bad guys and bullies online and on the mobile phone by enabling parents to stay actively engaged in their kids' digital world. uKnowKids has a free version of its service, and so parents can try out the parental intelligence tools for free.

Full disclosure... I am the CEO of uKnow.com... the company that powers uKnowKids.

I hope this is helpful to your readers.

That's it, a lot of people think that coffee is bad for you health, I myself am a constant coffee drinker. Though some of them people are right, because in large doses coffee is harmful. But, a cup or two a day isn't so bad, and should we care anyways, It tastes great, and there are positive health benefits. Cheers, have a cup of coffee with me.

Awesome post,

Hi, Rachel. I'm still a big fan of my best student ever.
Keep on writing. I'm proud to have been your math and science teacher in 2004. Best of luck in all of your future endeavors. As for Spanish cuisine, I love it. But, then again, I love German, Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Korean, Thai, French, Japanese...

While the issue is real, the article is clearly schlok. Want "solid proof"? See the sentence... " But Johnson says there is no solid proof that the family planning policy had boosted the economy of China. "

There is never "solid proof" of anything in economics or social sciences. There was never "solid proof" of global warning (which now looks like a scam), and despite the consistency of the theories and evidence, there is no "solid proof" that high taxes harm the economy or that high minimum wages reduce employment of the marginally-employable.

I just stumbled across this article by googling "western mass punk" and I could not agree with the last sentence more. That being said, please do not lump all of MA in with Western MA. I hail from the eastern side of MA and Boston has one of the best Punk scenes ever. Sadly I have relocated to Amherst, the irony being I relocated out here to play punk, (our drummer goes to UMass) and the scene is definitely lacking the angst. I do suggest digging a little deeper, you'll find some punk but mostly just more hipsters.

I agree with this! The Confessional is currently just a hellhole of negativity. I go on it every day, and try to bump the positive threads, or try to contribute positively. I haven't given up on it, and I don't think everyone else should either. The Confessional is a MEDIUM, and its tone will always be determined by the dominant material on it.
