In October 2008, Angelo Mazzocco, former professor of Renaissance History, was awarded $55,000 from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation with a Mellon Emeritus Fellowship. A prestigious award, usually granted to Ivy League and high ranking university professors, has finally been conferred to one of Mount Holyoke College’s own.

Organized by TOUCH Sexual Health Educators, “Trans U: An Introduction to Transgender Issues on Campus: Part I” attracted about 100 students to Gamble Auditorium on Monday to hear Samuel Lurie, of Transgender Training and Advocacy, speak on difficulties faced by gender non- conformers.
