McSweeney’s author Cotter shows depth with dark first novel

It’s hard to imagine that Bill Cotter’s 2009 Fever Chart could have content so eccentric as to befit its cover. The cover, after all, is a medley of bright colors and distorted cartoons of urban debris, centering in upon a male figure whose body is animated, kinetic and dripping blood.

Vegas Night rumors flew and flopped

Friday, Oct. 16 was the night of Mount Holyoke’s most anticipated celebration: Las Vegas Night. Scores of people came to partake in the festivities, which primarily include gambling, dancing, and drinking. This year, the excitement surrounding the celebration was tainted by speculation of restrictions being placed on it.

NBC’s Saturday Night Live is not new to airing shocking programming-nevertheless, heads turned in the media this past Saturday when SNL newcomer Jenny Slate used the “F-word” in her debut sketch on the show’s season premiere.
