Ioulia Bespalova | The Mount Holyoke NewsSome of this week’s offerings include comment posters in dining centers so students can write “thank-you” notes to Dining Services members, a bulletin board in Blanchard with photos of Dining Services workers as well as interviews with some of the staff and table toppers containing information about the local and environmental food initiatives made by Dining Services.
“I was honored when students from the Food Justice Society, Student Coalition for Action, and Working Class Student’s Union contacted me about having the Dining Services Appreciation Week, especially since it is a first of its kind. I know that all of my staff will certainly appreciate this. Prior to this week, I met with a couple of students from the FJS to talk about their plans, gave them a tour of our warehouse and bakery operation, and spoke to the many things that we do around Dining Services sustainability efforts,” said Director of Dining Services Dale Hennessey.
This upcoming Friday, April 30, Mount Holyoke students will have a Pangy Day “flash mob choir” at 12:45 p.m. Students will sing to Dining Services staff working at the picnic on Pageant Green in order to publicly thank them for their service and dedication to the College.
