You only have so much time to watch shows on Hulu, why waste your time on old SNL episodes when you could be using that time to watch something slightly more entertaining.
5. Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution( ABC, Friday 9pm) A British chef trying to educate the most unhealthy city in America through intervention. This is great television; you will be transfixed for hours. The first couple episodes featured Jamie Oliver crying, showing children how chicken nuggets are made (bone marrow and all) and teaching an extremely unhealthy family how to switch their eating habits from a freezer full of frozen pizzas to a nice balanced diet of fruits and “vegs”.
4. The Price of Beauty (VH1, Monday 10pm) Jessica Simpson, her best friend and hair stylist, travel around the world to discover how different cultures view beauty. This comes at a fitting time as Simpson has recently been ridiculed for her weight gain, (btw her “mom” jeans are no where near the size of the average women) she also somewhat redeems her “is this chicken or tuna?” comment on MTV’s Newlyweds. While I enjoy seeing different culture’s perspective on beauty you should be warned that this show lacks depth and I often find 20 mins to be too long. But don’t let that dissuade you, you might learn a little something about French Day Spas…
3. Millionaire Matchmaker( Bravo, Tuesday 10pm) This show is great purely for seeing how Patti, the 3rd generation matchmaker, treats men who frequently womanize. She is not afraid to yell at them, kick them out of the millionaire club or force them to grow up. Watching this, you might pick up some dating tips of your own.
2. The Soup (E!, Friday 10pm) Hilarious. That is all you need to know. Joel McHale recaps the past week in T.V. by mocking segments and clips of today’s most popular television shows. McHale is making a name for himself, he now stars in the comedy Community on NBC and recently for April Fools Day he “hacked” Ryan Seacrest’s Twitter account and was Seacrest for a day. A low budget show, The Soup is one of the best on television.
1. Chuck ( NBC, Monday 8pm) This show has loyal, devoted fans. Initially not on the lineup for a third season, fans from all over the globe rallied together to get Chuck to return. Thankfully, NBC heard and the show is currently running its 3rd season. Chuck, a computer nerd whose brain was infiltrated by a super-duper CIA computer, goes on top secret missions all while, up until recently, keeping his friends and family in the dark. One problem I have with the show is the depiction of Sarah, his CIA handler and love interest. To put it lightly the writers play up her sexy image. Otherwise, this show is full of drama, humor and most importantly, romance. As my friends can attest, I have been raving about this show a long time, and it just keeps getting better. Check it out!
Go on, ditch that homework, procrastinate some more. Check out some of these shows!
